Our 2017 Annual Conference was co-organised with the Research Institute for European and American Studies (RIEAS) and took place in Athens, Greece, from June 22 to 24.

Themed "Intelligence Studies in a Time of European Crisis," this vibrant, three-day event brought together panelists from armed forces, law enforcement, intelligence, and academic communities from Greece, Finland, Sweden, Denmark, The Netherlands, Germany, USA, UK, UAE, Turkey, Israel, Poland, Romania, Russia, Serbia, France, and Switzerland.

The conference touched upon a diverse array of intelligence-related subjects. The discussed topics included the evolution of intelligence studies, the far-reaching implications of the continuously evolving social media landscape, the restructuring of intelligence services, and an extensive spectrum of contemporary security challenges. The latter encompassed organised crime, human trafficking, security situation in the Middle East and North Africa, illicit immigration flows into Greece, Italy, and other European countries, and issues related to radicalization and counterterrorism, as well as to the maritime security in the Balkan and Mediterranean regions.
