Following a two-year break caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, our 2022 Annual Conference was organised in partnership with the Institute École Universitaire Internationale and held in Treviso, Italy. The gathering brought together more than 150 participants from over 20 countries.

Our two distinguished keynote speakers included the DIA Deputy Director for Commonwealth Integration, Maj. Gen. Michelle McGuinness, and the Director of the European Union Intelligence and Situation Centre, José Casimiro Morgado.

The inaugural session was attended by the Italian Defense Undersecretary of State, a Representative of the European Parliament, a Representative of the Italian Parliament, and representatives of local governmental authorities.

The conference embraced an innovative formula of focus bytes. Throughout the event, more than 40 research papers and presentations delved into a diverse array of intelligence-related challenges. These included novel perspectives on understanding of global events, ways to improve relationships between intelligence and decision makers, novel approaches to intelligence education and training, lessons gleaned from intelligence failures, and advancements in cyber analysis and strategic intelligence.

In addition, special evening events that took place alongside the conference gave its participants a unique opportunity to appreciate the rich cultural and historical heritage of Treviso.
